GOAL @ Cinepax - Rawalpindi

Posted by Khushal Khan on December 2nd, 2007

It never usually happens that we set out with friends for a long drive but when the mood is alive than all one needs is an excuse to go for one, we setup with a group of friends to go to Rawalpindi right from Peshawar to watch the latest Indian movie Goal on the big screen at Cinepax. All the friends and company am sure would have laughed there @$$ off at we few individuals but it was a great experience for someone like me who never was willing to see the face of cinema, but hearing that this particular cinema was far better than any other ordinary one i never said no.

We went via the recently built Motorway and so the drive was comfort and less time consuming, and the movie itself was pretty entertaining, though am not a very big fan of Indian movies specially but i must say the movie was a piece of great story put together with great actors. GOAL is a must to watch movie i would say and i highly recommend it. We’re all impatient now for the release of the movie “Bee” at that very cinema and we’re surely gonna watch it there. Glad to see some good places to “kill time” though not in our city but the country at least;).

Travel wishlist: Amsterdam~

Posted by Khushal Khan on November 27th, 2007

Austria was my in wish list for a reason, the beauty and landscape of the country, but natural beauty is for people who have spent most of there life and are willing to settle somewhere in a peaceful place, life seems nearly meaningless when there is no fun, lights, enjoyment and fun, etc. This will always bring Amsterdam to my mind, with the knowledge about this place (country) and with so many things to do in Amsterdam the place as they call it is the life of the Netherlands.

The city as the web analysis speaks of it has alot to offer with Zeedijk(the oldest quarter of the city) , China-town, the note worthy first coffeeshop and the narrow street of Amsterdam , the Canal cruise in the city water, the Rijks Museum and the Alexander Van Gogh Museum, etc. Although the climatic conditions and the environment are one of there kind but the Amsterdam Weather is very unpredictable, i.e there is no guarantee of good weather at any time of the year, even on the most hottest days in the summers, the locals as some say are seen carrying an umbrella as to who knows when it rains.

The one very worth scene that you will notice about that Amsterdam is the number of bicycles, not that the country has run out of cars but many people use Bicycle as there medium of transport, this however was told by my sister when she saw this 2 years back when she went to Amsterdam to meet her friend. So Amsterdam, you’re in my list and i’ll come soon to you Inshallah!

Note: This is just a wish list post, and i’ve never been to any place abroad as yet, but Travelling is what i’d love to do in the future so that is why am also setting up a Travel wish list.

Travel Wishlist #1: Austria~

Posted by Khushal Khan on November 6th, 2007

I love travelling and though its a fact that i’ve not travelled much but i still can feel the fun you are going through while travelling and living in a different place for some time. From the past few weeks any maybe its just the movie’s effect that i see that i have developed a strong desire to travel abroad specially. When i first saw the entire Band of Brother’s series and the way they portrayed the natural beauty that lies in Austria and the awesome museums and places in Germany. Ever since than i always wished and wished i’d be there some day, sooner or later but it most probably would be later in my life since am hooked up with a dirty life at the moment studying, than have to complete my Masters and i am fully prepared to get it all done from UK provided that conditions are favorable, and they say UK is also one must place to visit specially Aberdeen Beach, London Eye and Exeter ( Buena Viva Exeter ) are a few worth mentioning places:P.

From now on i plan to set up an entire catalog of any best tourist destination’s in the worldwide , maybe if i am not able to make it to them some of my Feed readers can;)

My Unforgettable visit to Azad Kashmir~~~ Arrival Day 1

Posted by Khushal Khan on August 21st, 2007

As my summer vacations started we friends from our hostel had already planned to visit somewhere in the start of the vacation, unlike the other friends who went abroad with family to Scotland, Kingston upon Thames, buenos aires in argentina and others who normally stuck to the one top spot of Nathia Gali in the summers we chose a different place, a friend of us Mian Saad had been to a place in Azad Kashmir named as Cutton in Athmakam. Knowing nothing much about the beauty of the place we still planned a visit and one we were there it was like a dream come true.

Prior to going there i already made a post about it here… but since i had no time to write about it i thought i will write it some other time. All of us gathered from different stations i.e Peshawar,Rawalpindi and me from Abbottabad in one place Muzaffarabad from where a hired Jeep took us to the Cutton resort in about 4 hours. We came across many beautiful and heart touchy sceneries on our way while we could clearly see Indian villages from a naked eye and i was like wow *i can see another country*. We stopped in many places being checked by Army and than finally reach the Cutton resort where we were to stay for a week at least.

Cutton Resort: Click to EnlargeThe resort was also one hell of a place to live, unlike a normal hotel or a rest house where you get to live in a room, this resort was unique in its kind, was very cleaned and beautiful and maintained specially for special UN guests and Foreigners (probably that is the one reason why it was so awesome), it was really Cheap and more of a luxury place to live for a week in vacations. We had booked a Suite already , yes this resort has Suites and we got a luxury suite with 3 rooms, with a kitchen, bathroom and a TV Lounge and Dining area.

When we reached there the Sun had already set and it was getting dark, and a bad news that there was no power at that very moment. Tired as we were we took all the stuff out of the jeep, the food items, our bag packs and the rest of the luggage and settled them in one place, so we were all set and this had to be our home for the next 6 days all said. There was nothing else we wanted to do so we ordered the mess guys for dinner giving them the Chicken we brought with us (Yes,food items are sold there but the market is far away and takes nearly hours and we were told its better to bring a big stock of food stuff in different varieties to avoid the pain) and all sat in the TV lounge talking and doing gup shup, within the gup shup we started telling the Ghost stories(some fake ones were told by friends to scare the butt out of emotional and dissolving people like me) and within one stories a friend of mine stood up pretending to go to kitchen while the other was telling us the story and i was fully dissolved in his fake story when the guy who went to kitchen came from the back and said *Bhooot* ,!!! Holy shit i was scared and was really scared but atleast we had a laugh alot, than a friend grabbed the guitar (one of us was a guitar freak) and started playing and i started singing and the others were good listeners and they made video’s in the cell phone in the candle lights~ All well till the power came and the lights switched on, we had the dinner and tired as we were we went to the bed to get some sleep!

End of Day - 1 ( Day 2 coming soon so stick to the blog or Subscribe to our feed )
