How much can you eat?:P

Posted by Khushal Khan on September 27th, 2007

The hungry bird as i can be in the Ramadan and specially in the sizzling Peshawar weather where the temperature is still as good as Summers at day time but i have to agree it gets awesome at night, yes Ramadan is getting tougher every year because its rolling back to summers and sigh, the next 15-16 years will be real hard nuts to crack in Ramadan, but that is all the fun, the more tougher it is to fast the more you get to eat in the iftar which is what i am waiting for since i am stopped to eat and drink after the Sehri. In the hostel although it isn’t much a good environment or even the mood to eat much but when it gets to dining out with friends in restaurant for Iftar the real test and results are seen there, we have not many options here in Peshawar other than Pizza Hut (all you can eat till 9 pm), KFC with there all you can eat deal for a mere Rs.399, Shiraz with a heavy continental bulky food iftar for the same price and many other local restaurants( none of them listed in any local Business Directory or Yellow Pages ) but how much can you eat one time? Ok, this will get boring since you can’t count the food, but herez a small fun ask.

Q:If you go to Pizza Hut or KFC, how much will you eat in an Iftar in a all you can eat deal?

P.S: One of my friend ate only 8 units of KFC Burgers last night :)

UPDATE: We went on Saturday to Pizza Hut and your’s truly ate 8 Slices, with all the other friends averaging 8 as well:P Oh Gosh! we are too greedy people but hey i balanced the KFC’s deal with Pizza hut cos i ate only 2 Zingers in KFC a day befor that:P

{Pee}TCL’s vfone - Nice service from a scam company with false tariff rates~

Posted by Khushal Khan on September 17th, 2007

Vfone If some of you have happened to used PeeTCL’s vfone , that is a wireless phone nearly as good as a fixed land line that also helps the subscribers to use internet. From the past 15 - 16 days i’ve been using this service(since our hostel internet will take atleast a month after the approval of HEC and Director), i’ve even used it alot before my vacations but anyways let me tell you about this scam company that has never even changed after completely reviving their corporate identity and even getting partially privatized.

Vfone charges a line rent of 7/Rs daily from the balance of your prepaid card with internet charges being 10 Rs from 8 am - 8 pm and 5 Rs from 8 pm - 8 am, fine and affordable but the hidden charges (those who use it know about it) can’t be calculated. When i loaded my 2nd scratch card in the same week and was not able to connect to the internet i called there helpline which on a mere 32nd attempt connected to the operator who said there servers are down, other than that he made me really happy about the new so called tarriff that VPeeTCL introduced, the line rent was completely removed he said , with reduction in call rates and the internet charges made flat at Rs 5/hour, the news was kinda really great for a very excessive internet user like me, he said i’ll have to activate the package before i can use the package and for the cause he noted down my number and said please call after two days to confirm if the package is activated or not, which in either case will be since i am personally going to handle it. Glad that i was i even forgot that this is a promise from a Pakistani individual working in a Pakistani company that is not fully privatized yet, holy cow why did i believed him…. and till today 5th day or 6th i think i am trying to call there help line but the computer on phone only has to say “Ham Muazrat Khwa Hain , Kay Operator is waqt masroof hay, mazeed intizar kay liye 1 dabaeeyayy” and i keep on pressing 1 and 1 and 1… i wonder what the operator is upto. Other than that it takes my lovely VPeeTCL phone only 4 days to gobble up a card , even when i mostly use the internet in the late hours not more than 6 hours daily.

Other than that if you even go and check out the PTCL’s website they have given the new rates which are not even implemented at all to old subscribers like me,to my surprise the VPTCL Wireless own website is no longer functioning giving a few links to other sites in the bottom page, wow this is called a Pakistani based company.

I am not even sure if they’ll ever pick up the phone or get my new package activated, just forget that but why do you even have to activate that package i mean??? can’t they do it automatically??? Other than that if they still had to use the same rates why lie and brag about the new tariff rates when its not implemented. Anyways regardless of the fact that it is a bit expensive than a dial-up, and is a perfect alternative to it and has a good browsing speed atleast in areas with no buildings , like Phase-7 Peshawar where i live at hostel BUT can’t be trusted cos you never know when there weird servers go down.

P.S: I am still using the same VPeeTCL Wireless writing this post, hope PTA and PTCL never gets there hand on me:~

17 SSG Commandos dead in Tarbela~

Posted by Khushal Khan on September 14th, 2007

I just heard the bad news of a Bomb Blast in Tarbela Cantt (the place where i spent 19 years of my life) in the SSG Unit where 17 Highly-Trained Commandos died. Too bad, a start of a very Holy Month and this bad incident. May Allah SWT bless all those who died in the blast and grant there families the power to bear this sad news.

These commandos were a very highly-valuable and gem for the Pakistan army since it costs billions of Rupees to train these commandos in aid with American Military, they are the most hard and toughest people in Pakistan and are responsible for dealing effectively with thousands of Operations that were called impossible by other authorities but made possible by these group of SSG individuals. I am not sure what is going to be the after effect of this since situation is truly un acceptible and not favourable.

Tarbela is a small town and has played one of the most important role in the devlopment of Pakistan, it possess in its heart the mighty Tarbela Dam which is the biggest dam of Pakistan providing the maximum Electricity to the country, secondly the SSG commandos are the only second unit in Pakistan after the Cherat Unit and have done countless operations within and outside Pakistan including the latest Lal Masjid operation. I wonder it couldn’t be in a devil’s mind even to have a suicide bomb blast out there, if such small towns are not secure than i wonder who is secure, but one thing is 100% for sure and that is that Army is being targeted no matter where they are. It is too sad to see all those precious, hard working and rock-hat commandos die like this, when i recall the moments i spent there and the way they use to practice and do high-tech training and walk for 15-20 miles daily in the morning i feel so sad.

I hope Allah SWT gets all the situation normal in Pakistan since we cannot afford the loss of such individuals as well as other normal civilians who are to become the Future of Pakistan.

Update: I just heard that the suicide attack was carried out on the company that was responsible for the operation in the recently Lal Masjid siege.

Anti-Hilal Committee couldn’t sight the Moon again *Ah Kidding*

Posted by Khushal Khan on September 13th, 2007

Ok i was just trying to be a bit funny but since i’ve never heard the committee saying we’ve successfully sighted a moon for Shawwal or Ramadan so i prefer to call it Anti-Hilal or Hilal-Free committee. Since they announced the moon was not sighted so the 1st of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak will be on Friday,14th September 2007.

According to Moonsighting.com the Moon has been sighted at Mauritius and South Africa where its 1st Ramadan tomorrow, but in other parts of the world like Australia,UK etc the report is negative. According to a detail graphical report posted here it is nearly impossible to sight the Moon in Pakistan, but it could be in the Middle-Eastern states. So the report of the Hilal-committee Pakistan is hence Correct. No moon sighted and the curve is to appear in Pakistan’s longitude and latitude either by tomorrow to prove the 1st Ramadan the day after, hope i am correct as well.
The history of various people having different dates for the Eid and Ramadan in Pakistan is a very old story and mostly people in the tribal areas of the country or NWFP (not sure about other parts) are included in that. Since i belong to NWFP and i’ve lived in 2-3 different places so we have to go with our village for Eid and the government for Ramadan. Tomorrow there is no Fasting in Peshawar so i won’t be Fasting but i am not sure whether i’ll be able to complete the 30 or not or if it would go on to 31 like last time:P. Ok issue not solved but we’re ok with it , but there’s still one thing i am concerned about and that is if we and the Government can have the same dates for Shab-e-Mairaj,Muharram and other religious months, than why can’t for Ramadan… maybe we don’t have much trust over the government although as a Muslim and educated individual we should follow the government since they have technology and resources for the cause and that in Akhirat they can be held responsible.

Musharraf Vs Nawaz (2 - 0)

Posted by Khushal Khan on September 10th, 2007

Musharraf has scored a goal again, second time, though too late but he did. I am really surprised at what is going to happen in a country where a Un-elected Self Proclaimed Army General, Chief of Army and a President of a country (all in one) can do every thing on the face of the earth.

Nawaz Sharif Deported:Image credits NDTV.com

I just heard the news that Nawaz Sharif who was formerly deported to Saudi Arabia back in 1999 by the same ruler today and who was set to come back to Pakistan after being cleared by the Supreme Court to enter Pakistan without any allegations against him has be RE-DEPORTED back to Saudi Arabia after he landed in Pakistan today early morning from a Flight from London to Islamabad.

Officially he was allowed to enter the VIP lounge and also got the documents stamped but was trickly grabbed by the Mush agencies for being involved in corruption and several other charges based on which they demanded his arrest to which he agreed but before he could realize what was to happen next, he was taken through a helicopter to a ready waiting chartered aircraft and sent back to Saudi Arabia.

I am not saying that Mian Nawaz Sharif was a complete honest man, i have political opinions that depend on situation but what i think is that its not a concern whether Nawaz Sharif was a corrupt leader or not but what Musharraf done to save his ass for the fore coming elections (Which i highly doubt will be held) is truly condemning. This is not the way how politics is done or in fact this is the way its done in Pakistan. Though the news are still to come but i thought where does the future of Pakistan lies when the 3 in one Musharraf has become the GawD?

Update: A fellow Blogger MB seems to have mis interpreted my post thinking i was comparing Mushy with Nawaz but the way i posted it is not a comparison with a Man with Gun and a Man with none but these are the *shits* of Politics and those with the best cards win. I am not favoring Musharraf or Nawaz but just posted an update in the Politicosphere of Pakistan:) Peace~

Random Bullshit~

Posted by Khushal Khan on September 8th, 2007

I am Off mind and dead brains these days, nothing else gathers in the mind except local random bullshit.I have monthly exam on the coming monday and am yet to find some “Laik Parhakoo” friend to grab the notes and pass ;) . Its sunday today and the day was terribly awesomely bad… I don’t know why although the weather was rocking but i felt lonely despite being surrounded by a group of bullshitters.

And yeah i just found something, another tune copying and same style…. most of you’ve heard the great song “Wake me up when September Ends” by Green Day probably, If you did and you also happened to have stumbled over the OST of the Indian Movie “Shootout at Lokhandwala” that was sung by the popular Pakistani band “String” and the song titled as “Akhri Alvida Na Ho” just watch the comparison between the tune. The tune is a 100% copy of the Green Day’s version. Is Bollywood out of tunes or what? They claim to be the 4th Largest Film Making industry in the world and… anyways that is old news. In the old times some 6 years ago i guess i saw a program on TV hosted by the legendary artist “Zia Mohiuddin” titled as “Dhun Hamaree Tumharay Naam Huwee”, it was a program that highlighted the top songs stolen in tunes by the Bollywood from the Pakistani Pop Industry, had you seen that than you would have really enjoyed and would be angry at how they are cashing in on the tunes made by us…. but hey our industry is also a copycat but very minimal as compared to them.

And yeah, i was late to download Umbrella by Rihanna but the song truly rocks and is on my repeat…so “You all can stand under my Umbrella”

P.S: This is probably the dumbest post i did;) but i had to am addicted to Wordpress now~

Posted by Khushal Khan on September 7th, 2007

I love to blog and today i was really in a mood to blog, i’ve opened the Write Post page for about 35-40 minutes and thinking of what to write and stuff but despite pressing my brains i am not able to come up with something unique, anyways i had to post something today and even if its nothing i can come up with this random post to let know how empty brains i am these days. I am cut off from the world busy in my webosphere and have no idea about what is going on in the World and surrounding but thanks to the blogosphere that it keeps me updated with the most hot news. ~

And yeah, i am planning to add an about me page to my blog sooner or later. Its always good to have an about me page on your blog, it gives a professional look as well as the reader gets to know the Writer as well.

My Room is still waiting for the Broadband connection but the under-construction site is making delays, till than i have to rely on my V-PTCL Wireless though~ See you around amigo’s soon~
