Travel wishlist: Amsterdam~
Posted by Khushal Khan on November 27th, 2007
Austria was my in wish list for a reason, the beauty and landscape of the country, but natural beauty is for people who have spent most of there life and are willing to settle somewhere in a peaceful place, life seems nearly meaningless when there is no fun, lights, enjoyment and fun, etc. This will always bring Amsterdam to my mind, with the knowledge about this place (country) and with so many things to do in Amsterdam the place as they call it is the life of the Netherlands.
The city as the web analysis speaks of it has alot to offer with Zeedijk(the oldest quarter of the city) , China-town, the note worthy first coffeeshop and the narrow street of Amsterdam , the Canal cruise in the city water, the Rijks Museum and the Alexander Van Gogh Museum, etc. Although the climatic conditions and the environment are one of there kind but the Amsterdam Weather is very unpredictable, i.e there is no guarantee of good weather at any time of the year, even on the most hottest days in the summers, the locals as some say are seen carrying an umbrella as to who knows when it rains.
The one very worth scene that you will notice about that Amsterdam is the number of bicycles, not that the country has run out of cars but many people use Bicycle as there medium of transport, this however was told by my sister when she saw this 2 years back when she went to Amsterdam to meet her friend. So Amsterdam, you’re in my list and i’ll come soon to you Inshallah!
Note: This is just a wish list post, and i’ve never been to any place abroad as yet, but Travelling is what i’d love to do in the future so that is why am also setting up a Travel wish list.
ARY ONE Transmission restored, What’s for GEO?
Posted by Khushal Khan on November 24th, 2007
In the latest scenario the ARY ONE transmission that was all handled from Dubai and shut down as the after shock of the EMERGENCY, has been restored after “ARY ONE” signed a DEAL with the General Government of Pakistan. This was going to happen sooner or later and i expect the same thing to happen with GEO TV as well since i don’t see any point in why GEO TV won’t make a deal with the GOVERNMENT, but maybe GEO was a big fish and banned due to there exaggerating reports against the government “i.e speaking the truth and crude reality” so it is still banned till yet.
From all i heard the last few days is that GEO is setting up its system in the four countries namely Australia,Thailand, Indonesia, etc so that the Pakistan’s Government could not influence on them and there transmissions be shown via satellite to a potential market that GEO captured when it started depicting the real face of the Government of Pakistan. GEO has filed a case against the government or not? this might be a question but i think what GEO needs to do is hire some American Law firms to which the government of Pakistan and there policy against GEO will never stand a chance, try >> www.americanlawyerreferral.com
Last but not the least, one thing i can guarantee people about the remaining hot hit channels like AAJ TV and ARY ONE is that whatever the case maybe now, they will never be against the Government, though within there hearts and souls the story might be different but on the TV and transmission there will always be “Musharraf Zindabad” and “Chaudhry Sahab ka Khwad, Parha Likha Punjab”
Me and my friend stood the Runner’s up in Dumb Charade @ FAST
Posted by Khushal Khan on November 17th, 2007
And the unprepared gang of my university (Institute of Management Sciences | Peshawar) at the notice of the same day went again to participate in the Maximum Talent Exposure at FAST-NU, in the middle of the FINAL term examination but luckily a weekend, and guess what? We rocked the place again getting 2 runner’s up and one winner’s trophy.
Luckily me and my friend and a side roommate Hissam *DeXter as he is preferred to be called* were forced into the Dumb Charade (A game where one partner is given a situation, name,or a thing to act upon and the other partner has to guess it within a minute) category like a baby being strolled over in a bugaboo and the worst of all right in the middle of the competition and i was like *What the…?* i came here to see a friend, enjoy and watch the show and not to act but the senior on my head had balls to force me and i agreed. Luckily, only 2 teams in the first attempt guessed the correct answer, one of them being me and ma mate and the other one being a team consisting of two twin brothers from FAST. Anyhow in the second round we did gave them tough time cos they guessed 2 extra and so did we but my teammate failed to guess the third while the opponent team did manage to and so we lost in the finals. Doesn’t really matters, you need to be lucky as well, other than that my team mate guessed “King Kong” just within 3 seconds of my act, “Hum Dil Day Chukay Hain Sanam” and “Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan” again within 15 seconds but failed to guess the tougher “A Walk to Remember (Movie)” though the crowd did guessed it some how.
In the other categories, our Drama team showed a spectacular performance by making a drama about the suicide bombing (which in real had a suicide bomb effect) and really forced the entire crowd to applause to there maximum and we won that trophy though the FAST drama was a great comedy as well. Other than that we stood Runner’s up in the Dance competition that was to be in the traditional style “Attanrr”.
Anyhow we came back with 3 Awards and that really meant a lot to a team that went unprepared. And we do plan to carry it on!
Travel Wishlist #1: Austria~
Posted by Khushal Khan on November 6th, 2007
I love travelling and though its a fact that i’ve not travelled much but i still can feel the fun you are going through while travelling and living in a different place for some time. From the past few weeks any maybe its just the movie’s effect that i see that i have developed a strong desire to travel abroad specially. When i first saw the entire Band of Brother’s series and the way they portrayed the natural beauty that lies in Austria and the awesome museums and places in Germany. Ever since than i always wished and wished i’d be there some day, sooner or later but it most probably would be later in my life since am hooked up with a dirty life at the moment studying, than have to complete my Masters and i am fully prepared to get it all done from UK provided that conditions are favorable, and they say UK is also one must place to visit specially Aberdeen Beach, London Eye and Exeter ( Buena Viva Exeter ) are a few worth mentioning places:P.
From now on i plan to set up an entire catalog of any best tourist destination’s in the worldwide , maybe if i am not able to make it to them some of my Feed readers can;)
Another week off~
Posted by Khushal Khan on November 2nd, 2007
I haven’t been blogging much since the PTCL Guys pissed me off blocking the web server my site is hosted at, anyways life goes on and maybe i shift to another one, till than i’ll not be a regular blogger. The coming Monday my Comprehensive exam starts, though the monthly results are not that bad as compared to the 3rd semester but really need to work hard to maintain a good GPA. What worries me most is the Micro Economics and Advanced Object Oriented Programming, the rest all are easy enough. Will be off for a week or so from now on. Hope to catch up at the Blogosphere after the exams, please keep praying:)
